How We Run Our School…

Classroom

Our administrative department and team constitutes the lubricant that keeps communication alive between the learners and facilitators in the classroom and the home and families of our learners. We are believers in the strength and support that the family unit infuses in the learning outcomes of our students and pupils, therefore do strives to maximize the power of community for the holistic learning opportunity and outcome. We believe that classes should be learners centered with informed and dedicated teachers as facilitators. The child should be fully engaged because…everyone learns better when they participate in their own learning. The multi-sensory approach with current trends is employed in reaching the early years children as this assures a great start for the child’s cognitive learning subsequently.

Our high school, a Cambridge associate school, offers state-of-the-art classrooms equipped with the latest educational tools which are dedicated to fostering academic excellence, innovation, and holistic development of all our students. Our learners are exposed to a hybrid of British and national curricula, thereby empowering them adequately to become future-ready scholars and responsible global citizens.

Join us at Praise-El High School, where excellence is not just a goal but a way of life.

Good Start, Grow Smart

There is so much about what and how a child learns. A child will always reflect his environment. For example, a child will pick up language, habits, do’s and do not’s from his environment. To this end, we ensure an environment that stimulates and maximizes learning. We expose our teachers (caregivers inclusive) to lots of training to bring out the desired role models in them for our dear children.

Broad Based Curriculum

We offer a broad and enriching hybrid curriculum that blends the British national curriculum and our Nation’s national curriculum. Under the British national curriculum, we use the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) for ages 2 years – 5 years.

We are adopting the key stages 1 and 2 for our primary school.

Our desire is to impact international standard knowledge and experience in the children who are able to face their world whenever they find themselves in life.

What Parents Need to Know…

PARTNERSHIP: SCHOOL & FAMILIES

Our choice of staff goes a long way to determine our dreams actualization; we not only select the best available, but we also expose them to trainings that will interpret our dream in the heart of our product- The Child.

We understand that parents have tremendous impact on what we do which goes a long way to actualize children’s outcome. We therefore hold in high regard our ability to work with families. We rate highly the role of communication for optimal result therefore we explore communication avenues as much as are needed; such as periodic newsletter, the Parents Teachers termly fora and personal letters when we need to, communication book between Parents & Teachers, Tea Party, and Parents’ Conferencing.

Our team of staff are constantly being fired up with this mentality because we do not intend to turn out mediocre but uncommon achievers. To realize this, we will task ourselves, the children and in turn, you. Your child would need you to work with him/her so, even when you do not feel like it, remind yourself of the end result (a great child) and choose to have fun with your child while getting the work done.

Overall we intend to bring you quality service in education like you have never seen it. We cannot do this without you so please come on board and let’s put value in our future together.

BIRTHDAYS

Whatever we celebrate in life appreciates; so plan and celebrate the child. In Praise-El Infant and Junior School, we celebrate children’s birthdays on Fridays only and the school should be informed prior to celebration at least one week ahead through the Admin or Director of Academics. The time is 1:00pm for the nursery section and 2:00pm prompt for the primary section. The school has retainership with a professional photographer; Parents must use the photographer for the photo session of the parties.

CLASS ADMINISTRATION

The school runs Monday through Friday except on Public Holidays. Resumption time is 7:15am, closing 1:30pm for the nursery classes and joyful beginners and 2:30pm for the primary classes. Please note that we frown at lateness to school. Lateness to pick up a child from school will attract a fine of N1000 per hour. Children are expected to be fed at home before arrival to school and also expected to come with enough lunch pack & snacks for lunch break, depending on the child’s ability.  Also note that the school has a vendor that serves lunch to children. Details are obtainable from the Admin.

AFTER SCHOOL

Our after school care program is open to parents who may have a need for the facility. The children admitted into this care are not necessarily PRAISE-EL pupils; it is open to parents from outside however, this must be a deliberate act of the parent and should not be seen as an assumption. If the needs for the care arise, please visit our admin office for further enquiries.

CHALLENGED HEALTH

We do not expect a child in school when he is not well enough to play. A child with fever, a very heavy cold or contagious disease should not be brought to school. If a child however falls ill in school, the parents will be called immediately and first aid will be administered while we await parents’ arrival. We may call the doctor with parents’ permission.

PARENTS/SCHOOL RELATIONSHIP

We have a culture of carrying our parents along knowing very much that we are in partnership when it has to do with the upbringing of the children. Parents are welcome whenever they need to air their view. This is why we have taken the pain to produce a vivid observation/correspondence diary in which parents will show their participation alongside the school in the life of the child. You are to look into the Diary, fill or respond as may be required and append your signature after appropriate comments. This is to instill maximum participation of our parents. (We completely discourage nonchalant attitude).

THE COLLABORATIVE TRIANGLE

Where you have any complains about any issue at all, these are the possible channels for complains.

All complains on academic/class matters should be directed to the head of sections. Any other should be directed to the Administrator or the Director as the case may be.

The founders of the school are practicing Christians therefore; we uphold core Christian values. However, we strive to build a community that makes every family’s culture and belief feel at home. We believe in professionalism and this is a show of it.

EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Schooling is not seen as being just about academics, nor is intellectual growth limited to verbal and mathematical references. Research in the social sciences proves there are several kinds of intelligence. Developing multiple intelligence in areas of interest will boost a child’s confidence and have positive effective influence on his academics. Socio-emotional development is a huge part of supporting holistic development in children.

Our Facilities

Praise-El School is driven by excellence and offers the best facilities available to facilitate student learning and ensure that the class is comfortable and safe for children.

Our facilities include beautiful and stimulating classrooms, interactive boards and smart screens, well-equipped laboratories, music, home economics, a computer and robotics center, science laboratories, and a library.
